Idaho Farmland

Filed under: Uncategorized — watercoloristramblings @ 11:14 am

This painting is really an impression of what I saw as my daughter and I drove through Idaho on our way to the Oregon beaches north of Portland.  It was as the fields were being harvested and plowed back.  IMGP0013

Boise Blue

This painting was inspired by the river walk that follows the Boise River.   The walk runs for miles and includes numerous parks with places to rest and or picnic and a beautiful monument to Boise‘s firefighters.    There are hiking/biking trails,  access to the zoo and the Boise Art museum.  There are office buildings and apartments that allow immediate entry to the river walk.  You can just sit and relax on the numerous benches,  picnic, or raft on the river,  there are even a couple of beaches along the trail.  For those who love the outdoors you can’t beat the Boise River Walk for pure easy-going pleasure.

Bedtime Stories

This painting was one of the first that I completed after a Ted Nuttall workshop. I took several workshops with Ted and admire his work, he seems to capture the inner person in his portraits. I painted this from a photo I took of my grandson while he was visiting one Christmas, although he was barely talking he took his bedtime stories very seriously Ted has a web page at http://www.tednuttall.com/

Li River Cruise

This painting of a cruise on the Li River in China was taken from a photo taken on my tour of China in the late 90’s. This cruise was my favorite part of the tour. I did enjoy the Great Wall and the Summer Palace and Shanghai and Beijing were exciting and I did love the story of the buried clay soldiers in Xian but to me the trip down the Li River was the highlight.
